So, The LAX Jetpack Guy Is Back

The mysterious LAX jetpack dude is back -- and jet-packier than ever. On Wednesday afternoon, crew members on a China Airlines flight about seven miles northwest of Los Angeles International Airport reported seeing a man soaring approximately 6,000 feet in the air on what appeared to be a jetpack, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

First flying onto the scene in early September, after crew members on an American Airlines flight reported seeing jetpack guy just 30 yards away from the aircraft at 3,000 feet, the still-unidentified man has captivated and fascinated the nation. As Twitter user @Flynah put it, "DID WE THINK A GUY WITH A JETPACK WAS ONLY GONNA USE IT ONCE??"

Despite capturing national attention, jetpack dude has still somehow managed to evade arrest and seemingly identification amid investigations from the FBI, FAA. and local law enforcement agencies. "The FBI is in contact with the FAA and is investigating multiple reports of what, according to witnesses, appeared to be an individual in a jetpack near LAX, including one today reported by a China Airlines crew," Laura Eimiller, the FBI Los Angeles Field Office spokeswoman, said following the incident. Someone must have rolled a nat 20 for stealth.

Aside from frustrating local law enforcement, jetpack dude has prompted some pretty, erm, interesting air traffic control conversations, according to audio obtained by CNN. "Use caution... person on a jetpack reported 300 yards south," air traffic control instructed a Jet Blue flight of the first incident on September 1. "Only in LA."

Jetpack guy whoever you are, keep on soaring -- Jimmy Neutron would be proud.
